Eden Hazard Says He Will Never Be The Same After Ankle Injuries

Jun 21, 2021 1:37 AM

Eden Hazard accepted that his career wouldn't be the same due to the numerous amount of ankle injuries he's endured in recent seasons.

"I never doubted my qualities, but whether I would be 100% fit for the European Championship was going to be a question. I broke my ankle three times, it will never be the same as 10 years ago. But I know that when I am in shape, that I can prove myself on the field and that's what I'm working on now," said Hazard.

Hazard is set to start against Finland on Monday, though may not last 90 minutes.

Belgium have already qualified for the knockout round with two wins.

Hazard said that his goal was to be fit for the knockout games.

"I'm not 100% yet, but I'm ready to start. But that was the plan, to bring me along gradually. It's especially important to be completely fit in the knockout phase. Then I have to be in top shape."

Christian Eriksen Suffered Cardiac Arrest, 'Gone' Before Resuscitated

Jun 13, 2021 12:53 PM

Christian Eriksen was "gone" before he was resuscitated after suffering a cardiac arrest, the team's doctor, Morten Boesen, said in a news conference Sunday.

Eriksen is in stable condition after being taken to a hospital in Copenhagen after he collapsed on the pitch.

"He was gone, and we did cardiac resuscitation. It was a cardiac arrest," Boesen said. "How close were we [to losing Eriksen]? I don't know.

"We got him back after one defibrillator, so that's quite fast. I'm not a cardiologist, so the details I will leave to the experts at the hospital."

Eriksen had just played a short pass when he fell facedown onto the ground and was given urgent medical attention for around 10 minutes.
